Advanced Microsurgery Seminars - Private Training

Program Objectives

This type of seminar is usually offered to individuals with previous experience in microsurgical techniques, who wish to further develop and master their skills.

Seminars description

The daily program is flexible and can be tailored to each participant's needs.

According to the previous microsurgical experience the program can include basic vessel and/or nerve microsurgery procedures (end-to-end, end-to-side anastomosis, vessel or nerve grafts) or advanced procedures (vasovasostomy, uterine tube anastomosis, flap or organ transplantation models) for a total of 7 days.

Also training in special procedures like cannulation of ductus thoracicus in rats and mice can be offered on request.

The trainees will have 24 h free access to the lab, rats, instruments and microscopes (Leica M651). The microscope has a digital photo camera and video camera, so the trainee may document digitally or on videoprinter the experiments. There is also free access to internet and the library of the lab. The staff of our lab will be available for preparing the animals, anesthesia and guidance throughout the experiments. At least one of our senior staff will come in the evening an evaluate the trainees' activity during the day.
